  12. I discovered some time ago that the USR 28.8 VI voice mail does not
  13. work reliably above 38.4 baud; however I just discovered that the comm
  14. driver can also  cause similar problems.  I had to reinstall WFW and I
  15. soon realized that my voice mail software was not working--it would
  16. not initialize properly(could not lock the comm port) or if it did
  17. initialize, it would hang when attempting to answer a call or to dial
  18. out. I replaced the comm driver with one from a file called
  19. "serial.zip"--this driver is dated March 9, 94 and is 9312 bytes.
  20. Others may work as well, but this seems to be the "fix" for me.
